LED lanterns

A very fast moving and excioting technology. LED lanterns have clusters of light emitting diodes (leds) in the three primary lighting colours, by varying the intensity between these colours using a lighting desk you can achieve another just like mixing paint but this time its with light. If you want a different colour, move the fader. So each lantern can do the job of several, with the advantage of up to 50,000 hours lamp life.

LED lanterns require far less power than conventional lanterns, and dont need external dimmers. Just give each lantern a power supply and a feed from the lighting desk.

The downside is because the light source is often hundreds of little sources in a box, you cant get a clearly defined focus, for that you need a profile theatre lantern, but as a wash lantern they are excellent.

Par 64 lanterns with 168 10mm 0.2w leds. Good for lighting small stages, or providing accents for large stages. We have these in our hire stock where we have found they are loved by our party / wedding decorater clients. Lots of colour and you can plug up to 108 onto a domestic plug socket

Making use of 3 watt LEDs these are bright enough to be used as a wash lantern on decent size stages.

We are now installing these in school halls, drama studios etc, and do have them in our hire stock.

252 10mm LEDs 1 mt long 35 degrees beam spread. Ideal for lighting small stage cycs. As the picture shows each batten can divided into three sections and individually addressed so if you really want to you can have stripes. Again we have these in hire stock

The outdoor version ideal for lighting buildings, trees, or if you can find a project a long stripe of light
